  • Dec 2022 Electrical System 2020 The Electric Power Control Unit (EPCU) may have been improperly sealed and may leak coolant internally.

    Risk Coolant contacting the EPCU circuit board may cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Remedy Dealers will inspect and replace the EPCU as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 9, 2023. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC258.

    Applies to Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2020 Niro EV vehicles.

“I have taken the car to Brown-Daub Kia in Easton twice, on May 1, 2025 and May 30, 2025, requesting the safety recall work (SC332) be completed. Both times I have been told they are unable to complete the work because they are unable to connect with Kia in some way.”
